Ellen DeGeneres and Katie Couric have a chat

Ellen DeGeneres is interviewed by Katie Couric either for the CBS Evening News or 60 Minutes and the two pixies (I just had to make a comment about their cute matching haircuts) talk about Ellen’s new stint on American Idol as well as gay marriage.

But the comment that really struck me was one Ellen made about accepting homophobic people – even if you are gay.

Says Ellen: “Let’s take, for example, someone who is antigay — someone who despises homosexuals … who I am. I have to remind myself, if I hate that person, if I judge that person, I’m the same as them.”
