Ellen and Portia re-create famous flagpole licking scene from holiday classic “A Christmas Story”

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi took to Twitter to share the results of their attempt to recreate the classic flagpole licking scene from the holiday movie A Christmas Story.

It is De Rossi whose tongue is sacrificed for the effort that pays tribute to the 1983 classic.

In the film, the character of Flick (played by Scott Schwartz), got his tongue stuck on a freezing metal flagpole outside the fictional Warren G. Harding Elementary School.

DeGeneres is wearing glasses in the re-creation just like the Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley) wgho wants only one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle.

The couple, now married for seven years, posted the photo with the caption: Merry Christmas Eve and Happy #TBT

On Christmas day, they posted this message: ‘Wishing you all a Merry Christmas filled with laughter, light and love. Be kind to one another.’
