Dame Elizabeth Taylor tweets to fans that her heart procedure was a success
Elizabeth Taylor took to Twitter earlier today to let her many fans know that she is on the mend from heart surgery.
The longtime AIDS activist and Oscar-winning star of such classic films as Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, A Place in the Sun, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and National Velvet posted this update: Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It’s like having a brand new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes. I know they all helped. Love you, Elizabeth.
Miss Taylor, 77, has had many well-known health problems over the years but she remains active in AIDS fundraising and business ventures. She rarely acts. Her last film was the 2001 TV movie These Old Broads co-starring Shirley MacLaine and Debbie Reynolds, and in 2007 she did a one-night-only benefit performance of Love Letters.
We’re glad this national treasure on the mend!
