DVD News: Season one of “Here’s Lucy” is out today and co-stars Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr.
You’d think I was on the payroll of the Lucille Ball estate the way I keep posting about new DVDs starring our favorite redhead.
Nope, just a gay man.
Here’s Lucy was Miss Ball’s third successful series and lasted six seasons (1968-74). It began immediately after the sixth season of her previous sitcom, The Lucy Show, ended, and gave her the opportunity to cast her children Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr.
It worked just great because the two Arnaz kids were talents in their own right and made Lucy more human again. Her previous series had become a cartoon in its last few seasons. As Lucy Carter, Miss Ball worked with her brother-in-law Harry at the Unique Employment Agency which proved to be more interesting than working at the bank with Mr. Mooney.
I have not seen all of the season one shows because I only have a best of Here’s Lucy compilation in my collection. But I look forward to seeing all of the episodes!
