DOOL star Deidre Hall on Guy Wilson: ‘He deserves our energy and appreciation and he has mine completely’
Days of Our Lives icon Deidre Hall, who plays the beloved grandmother and confident of Will Horton, seems to have gotten wind that some fans have been insanely – and I do mean insanely – against the transition from Chandler Massey to Guy Wilson in the role of Will.
(I posted pics of Guy and Freddie Smith holding baby Ari and there were people who even took issue with the way Guy was holding the baby! So I’ve witnessed this insanity first-hand.)
Anyway, Miss Hall is now weighing in: “So much has been said about Guy, who has taken over the role of Will. For my 2 cents, there is no more difficult job that replacing a cherished character when the creator has chosen to move on. Such is the job that Guy has accepted. Chandler left the show after winning 2 Emmys and our hearts. Guy is a dear man and an exquisite professional. He deserves our energy and appreciation and he has mine completely.”

That almost sounds like immature journalism Greg to use that type of language. If you actually took the time to understand why this was always going to be a difficult situation then you may have chosen your words more carefully. People have opinions. That is part of life. I didn’t like the way he was holding Ari Grace Greg. That is my opinion. Please respect that as I try to respect you a journalist. And if Miss Hall loves Mr. Wilson so much why has it taken her so long to share her feelings Greg?

Guy is a hard working young actor deserving a respect for his work. I am not big fan of some insane fans. They just need to move on and enjoy whatever they like rather than dumping shit comments to guy.

Tricia you act like that since it took Deidra so long to even talk about Guy that it means something. She shouldn’t have to come to his defense but I’m sure the negative comments have reached the actors. So I’m guessing that is what caused her to speak up. I’m also not trying to speak for Greg or anyone else when I say that no one was saying you don’t have an opinion or that you don’t get to have one. So don’t get so defensive. If you don’t like Guy as Will then move on and cherish the memories of Chandler and what he brought to the role. Some people have actually been able to start accepting Guy in the role. Right now this is an adjustment period for not only the actor who filmed these scenes around 3 months ago but also the viewers as well.
By the way Greg I loved Deidra in Our House ;).

well i, for one, after some hesitancy at first, fell in love with nu-Will/Guy! actually, it was his second appearance that i said, “hey, wait! this kid’s bringing something new to the table.” appearance #3 – i was hooked. he & Sonny certainly are more physical too…
