Don’t miss “Simply diVine!” this weekend, an evening of indulgence benefiting the LA Gay & Lesbian Center

Now this is one heckuva way to spend a Saturday night.

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Simply diVine! event, which I have attended several times in past years, is this week and I highly recommend you add it to your calendar of events too.

Held each summer on the world famous Two Rodeo in Beverly Hills, this is an elegant event featuring delicacies from some of the city’s hottest restaurants and wine from some of the most popular wineries in California and beyond.

In addition to food and wine tasting, Simply diVine! includes an extensive auction of fine wines, travel packages, fine dining and more.

“This year, we’re raising a glass to the Center’s 40th anniversary—and to a beautiful evening with friends beneath the stars,” says event co-chair and Center board member David Bailey. “Sampling fine wine and delicious food at a gorgeous outdoor venue is the perfect way to spend a warm summer evening in L.A.”

Bailey and Wendy Melford serve as co-chairs alongside Susan Feniger, a celebrity chef whose many television appearances include a turn on Top Chef Masters. Feniger is the owner of participating restaurants STREET and Border Grill; she is also a Center board member.

“Food brings people together, and great food brings people together in a powerful way,” Feniger says. “I adore the fact that so many incredible restaurants come together for Simply diVine, which offers the community the chance to sample such wonderfully diverse cuisines and wines.”

Participating restaurants include: STREET and Border Grill, Jar, The Gorbals, AOC, Lucques, Tavern and Fabiolus Café.

An exclusive VIP Tasting at Galerie Michael, 224 N. Rodeo Drive, offers guests a chance to sample fine wines at an exclusive reception prior to the main event.

Simply diVine includes an extensive silent and live auction featuring travel and restaurant packages, fine wines and more. All proceeds from Simply diVine benefit Center programs and services.
