Disgraced Carrie Prejean skips scheduled appearance at “Defenders of the Family” event, book out today
I guess Carrie Prejean, with her fake breasts, nude photos and now solo sex tape, no longer felt like being one of the “Defenders of the Family.”
The discgraced former Miss California – stripped of her title after failing to perform her duties -was removed from the schedule of last Friday’s event being put on the the New Jersey Family Policy Council.
TMZ.com reports that the group would not say if they canceled or if Carrie did and their attempts to reach Carrie’s reps were unsuccessful.
My guess is that it was a mutual decision!
The sex tape’s existence is reportedly the reason why Prejean quickly agreed to settle a lawsuit against the Miss California pageant. She had been seeking damages of $1 million claiming religious discrimination she’s been subject to public ridicule and humiliation and lost out on modeling work because she lost her crown. She claimed to have suffered anxiety, depression and loss of sleep since her firing, the lawsuit stated.
Pageant officials counter-sued Prejean seeking to be reimbursed the $5,200 they paid for her breast implants prior to the Miss USA pageant.

Last spring Carrie was the runner up at the Miss USA pageant and made headlines for her anti-gay marriage stance during the pageant’s question and answer portion. She told judge Perez Hilton that she was not in favor of “opposite marriage” in “my country.” Perez called her a “bitch” in a video shortly after and she has been riding that wave of infamy ever since, embraced by anti-gay marriage advocates and the extreme right.
This is an interesting situation for this young woman who has managed to explain away most of her past controversies – without taking personal responsibility for any of it – and remain in the limelight.
It’s not the best time for her to low since her new “book,” Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks is out TODAY.
