Diana Ross finally has new music out – today!

If Diana Ross never had another hit record, she would still have had more gigantic hits across the decades than just about any other female singer than maybe Cher or Barbra Streisand.

The former lead singer of the Supremes, now 77, has not released an album of new recordings since 2006’s I Love You although she has remained active as a live performer and can still sell out venues like The Hollywood Bowl. She’s also been collecting well-deserved life achievement awards and been her fabulous self surrounded by her large family which includes her very famous daughter Tracee Ellis-Ross.

Today is the release of Thank You, her first record of newly written material, not covers, in over 20 years. I’ve listened to a few of the 13 songs and look forward to hearing the rest of them. For now, here is the Rolling Stone review of the album.
