Daytime Soap Clip: Now that they have declared their love, Oliver and Kyle talk about being a couple on “One Life to Live”

It’s just so sweet.

After the many months of twists and turns and hopes dashed, Oliver Fish and Kyle Lewis are together.

I continue to be so impressed and so heartened by the way One Life to Live has handled this terrific storyline – the best gay love story in the history of daytime soaps so far.

The drama of Fish coming out to his friends then his family then his co-workers has helped us invest so much in this character and provided actor Scott Evans with the opportunity to do some Emmy caliber work.

While Evans had some real dramatic scenes Friday and Monday when he came out on television when shouting down some protesters during a group wedding, in these scenes, he shows such a wonderful tender side.

He and Kyle talk about the future and Fish admits that he doesn’t have a clue in this exchange:

Oliver: “How does this work?”

Kyle: “What do you mean?”

Oliver: “You and me. We’re talking about a relationship right?”

Kyle: “I sure hope so.”

Oliver: “Because I have absolutely no idea how to do that. I’ve never been in a real relationship with a man…. I’ve never even been on a date with a guy.”

More back and forth then as they prepare to go out to breakfast, Oliver pauses and says: “I love you Kyle.” Kyle is touched and says: “I love you too Oliver.”

Then they kiss.
