Daytime Soap Clip: Nick proposes to Kyle as mass gay wedding takes shape on “One Life to Live”

These clips from Tuesday’s One Life to Live move the marriage equality storyline along with Dorian (played by fabulous Robin Strasser) moving ahead with her lesbian charade and loves the idea of 100 couples having a symbolic wedding ceremony.

Says mayoral candidate Dorian: “A mass wedding is just the thing I need to seal my victory.”

Meanwhile, Nick (Nicholas Rodriguez) is keen on getting Kyle (Brett Claywell) to “marry” him at the ceremony.

Kyle at first declines: “Call me old-fashioned but I can’t be so cavalier about getting married … I don’t want to get married when I don’t want to get married when I know it’s the right time, until I know it’s going to last forever.”

http://soapsphere.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/nicholas-rodriguez.jpgNick replies: “Is your real problem with this that you wished the person asking you was Oliver?”

Kyle gets defensive telling Nick he and Oliver or “so over.”

“You’re the guy I’m with, you’re the only person I want to be with. Nick, you’re my guy.”

Encouraged by those words, Nick drops to his knee in the middle of the restaurant and proposes: “You are the smartest, sexiest, most fascinating man I’ve ever met … Kyle Lewis, will you make an honest man out of me.”

At this point, Oliver – suspended from the force as a brutality complaint is investigated – walks in on the proposal scene.

Stay tuned! Here are the scenes:
