Daytime Soap Clip: Kyle accepts Nick’s marriage proposal on One Life to Live, crushing Oliver

Poor Oliver Fish.

There’s always some kind of fresh hell waiting for him in Lanview, isn’t there?

As if he isn’t already having a bad enough day being put on administrative leave from the police force, he heads over to the diner and there is the love of his life, Kyle Lewis, being proposed to by his boyfriend Nick. Kyle accepts.

“I didn;t think you guys were that serious,” a stricken Oliver says.

When he’s told it’s part of a symbolic same-sex group marriage ceremony he asks: “So it’s just for show?”

You can see that Kyle is not as into this and is allowing himself to railroaded a bit. Still, he does give a nice goodbye kiss in front of Oliver. But after the former lovers sit down to chat, Kyle admits: “I don’t know if I love Nick.”

But Nick is still wary of the just out of the closet Oliver and tells him that he gave up on them a long time ago.

But Kyle’s friend Roxie sees through it all and later asks Kyle if he was trying to make Oliver jealous by kissing Nick and asks him point-blank: “Why aren’t you marrying the man that you love? … You’re over the guy who you’ve had a torch for since college? Are you sure you’re marrying the right man?”
