Daytime Emmys Noms for “EastSiders,” “After Forever,” Chandler Massey, Scott Turner Schofield, Ellen & more!

The Daytime Emmy Award nominations were announced today and I’m going to shine a light on the LGBT-related nominations in this post. You can find a FULL LIST of nominations HERE.

I’m thrilled that two of my very favorites: EastSiders and Chandler Massey have been recognized.

It is the sixth nomination overall for Massey for his portrayal of Will Horton on NBC’s Days of Our Lives. He has won three times. Earlier this year, the soap took the talented Massey off contract along with Freddie Smith who plays his onscreen husband Sonny Kiriakis. Maybe a fourth Emmy win will convict the misguided suits to write Massey’s beloved character back into the show?

The wonderful series EastSiders has received eight well-deserved nominations including Digital Drama Series, Writing, Supporting Actor (Willam and Leith Burke), Guest Performer (Lin Shaye), and nods for Costume Design, Makeup and Casting. The show has completed its fourth and final season.

Congratulations to transgender actor Scott Turner Schofield who has been nominated for Best Guest Performer in a Digital Drama for his performance in Studio City.

Also nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama is out actor Gregory Zarian for Venice.

Also of LGBT interest in yet another nomination for The Ellen DeGeneres Show for Best Talk Show (Entertainment) and for Sara Gilbert who is nominated for Best Talk Show Host (Entertainment) along with her The Talk co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Marie Osmond.

Congratulations to out actor/writer/director Michael Nardelli whose series Dark/Web received seven nods including two categories that include Nardelli: Outstanding Digital Drama Series and Outstanding Directing Team for a Digital Drama Series.

And finally, Season 2 of After Forever, has been nominated for 6 Daytime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Digital Drama Series and Outstanding Writing Team for a Digital Drama Series.
