Days of Our Lives: Will & Sonny storyline hitting new lows as Will prepares to leave for LA with Ari
Okay, I’m just going to say it: these scenes are painful to watch.
Not painful because they are so sad, painful because they are such crap. So badly written and lacking credibility as they have Will behaving in ways that are absolutely inconsistent with the character.
It’s fine to create a wedge between Sonny and Will but at least make it feel authentic instead of Will not only breaking the news to his husband but leaving – with baby Ari – that very day.
Will seems very insensitive about it all and is far from the character we cared about so much when he came out to grandma Marlena and fought Nick for his baby,
This is a low point for the storyline.

It is a sad state of affairs, Greg. They are newlyweds. Past the honeymoon phase, for sure, but this is a basically a trial separation! If this storyline is just to accommodate Guy Wilson’s vacation schedule, it would be better if they just kept them off the canvas for a couple of weeks.

Maybe Sonny can have some fun while Will is gone—maybe he’ll turn Will’s Dad in another direction!

I can’t bring myself to watch this show anymore. It’s all kind of sad how such wonderfully written gay characters these were and how they turned them into this junk. Also, there is no way that Guy Wilson can bring anything close to the performance and realism of Chandler Massey. While I gave the guy a shot, he’s a bad actor or Chandler Massey was just too good to be replaced.
I think they should kill off Will and then have Sonny raise the child. Perhaps then Sonny could meet someone and begin a relationship again and turn the show around.
There are rumors that the episodes with Will from his coming to terms with being gay until shortly before Chandler Massey left the show will be edited together and come out as a mini-series on DVD. I hope this happens.
