Days of Our Lives: Sonny stands vigil at Will’s hospital bed waiting for him to wake up after surgery
Okay Freddie Smith, you have your Emmy entry tape for next year and thanks for making me cry!
As Sonny, Freddie has just been aces all year and in this scene, he once again makes us believe – and feel – how much Sonny loves his boyfriend Will.
There are some couples on soaps that you never really buy (Daniel and Jennifer for example) but Will and Sonny are the real deal and that is all credit to the actors playing them.
Will is recovering from surgery during which the bullet is successfully removed and his prognosis is excellent. As Sonny and his parents, Sami and Lucas, wait for him to wake up, they are at his bedside telling him how much they love him.
So much sweet stuff here including Sami and Lucas teasing each other about being grandparents and Lucas telling Sonny there is no one else he’s rather have be with his son.

Freddie Smith is perfect as Sonny. He is so believable in this role. We, the audience, can feel the love Sonny has for Will. Especially in these scenes, and the episodes that aired this week, both Freddie and Chandler show how much these characters love and trust each other. They should be proud of the work they are doing on the show. Truly amazing. Definitely EMMY-Award material. Thanks go to the writers for an amazing storyline and scripts, and to the producers for allowing this love story to be told and hopefully to continue to grow and build into a future Super Couple and family.
