David Blue would go back to “Ugly Betty” in a minute: “I really hope that I’m not leaving it behind”

There is life after Ugly Betty for actor David Blue, who played photographer Cliff, the love interest of Michael Urie’s character of Marc St. James.

David is one of the stars of the new Syfy series Stargate Universe but told me at the Television Critics Association Press Tour on Thursday that he’s still quite open to picking up Cliff’s cameras again.

“I have to be honest with you, I really hope that I’m not leaving it behind,” he said. ” The way the role was wrapped up last season, it kind of wasn’t a closed door, it was a closed door with an open window. I love the role of Cliff, I love everyone on the show and I love the crew so I would absolutely love to doi it again. It’s just a matter of working schedules out. If they’d have me, I would fly there every weekend. I think Mark and Cliff is a relationship that should be explored more and I think it’s an important dynamic for people to see.”

He has also stayed friends with on-screen boyfriend Urie: “Oh, I love him, he’s a great guy. I’m going to be in New York this week and I’m going to try very hard to see his show The Tempermentalist. Great, great guy – fun to work with.”
