That hasn’t stopped the speculative Google searches.

The actor tells The Guardian that the last time he Googled himself, the automatic search entries were: ‘Daniel Radcliffe alcoholic. Daniel Radcliffe gay. Daniel Radcliffe girlfriend.’

‘I’m pleased my girlfriend (Erin Darke) comes up before alcoholic or gay,’ Radcliffe says.

‘When I first did that, I got really annoyed for about half a minute, until I tried a few other people’s names and I found out [gay] comes up after almost everyone if they’re a man, and even some women – Florence Welch had it, and I was like, really?’

Not that Radcliffe, a staunch and vocal supporter of LGBTI equality, is particularly uptight about such things.

‘If people are speculating about your sexuality, then you’re doing OK,’ he says with a laugh.

Besides, he’s given up the self-Google anyway.

‘It fucks you up. You shouldn’t be on there if you’re an actor.’
