Daniel Radcliffe honored by Trevor Project
I’m a huge fan of the Harry Potter movies but that’s not why I think the world of Daniel Radcliffe. This young actor, currently on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, has established himself as a staunch straight ally to the LGBT community and has spoken out strongly about gay teen suicide.
Daniel was honored last night in NYC by The Trevor Project which is determined to end suicide among LGBTQ youth.
”I think of everything I’ve done in my career so far, my association with Trevor is the thing I’m proudest of,” he said at the event.
He also told MTV News: “The fact that I’m able to help with something like this makes me very, very proud. It’s a huge honor, and it’s lovely of them to give it to me. I’ll say it again later, but the real heroes are the people who are staffing those call centers and picking up the phones saving lives every single day.”
Among those in attendance were Johnny Weir (whaddaya think of the shorts?) and CNN newsman Don Lemon.
