Dan Amboyer pays tribute to Billie Jean King after final Chicago performance of the play “Billie Jean”

Amboyer, an actor with a long list of television (Younger, Uncoupled) and stage credits, has been portraying Larry King who was married to the 20-time Wimbledon champion for more than two decades and partnered with her to create World Team Tennis and many other business projects.
BJK and her wife, Ilanna Kloss, made it to a recent performance and Amboyer writes on Instagram:
A slightly surreal experience to perform BILLIE JEAN for.. Billie Jean! It’s an honor to play Larry King in our play, to whom she was married/built a business empire with for 22 years. BJK is an icon for many reasons, but for me, her impact as an #lgbtq+ trailblazer is immeasurable. We have our hard won rights and freedoms and life today because of our foremother and forefathers’ unrelenting insistence of equality. I, and my family, stand on these giants’ shoulders. Thank you for this—and for your continued kindness @billiejeanking and Ilana.
Billie Jean herself writes: Following the play, we spent time with the cast and the 2 other Billie Jeans. Their performance was terrific, a wonderful evening that I will always cherish.
