Commentary: Why on Earth did NBC cut kiss between Kathy Griffin and Mariska Hargitay on “Law & Order: SVU”?

Good grief, aren’t we passed this kind of nonsense by now?

Kathy Griffin, a gay icon, guest starred on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU last week as a lesbian activist. The promo for the episode featured a kiss between her character of Babs Duffy and Mariska Hargitay’s Det. Olivia Benson.

The episode airs and the kiss is nowhere to be seen.
