Colorized “I Love Lucy” Christmas Special to air on Dec. 20 on CBS with additional color episode
I was in heaven the day after Thanksgiving.
Plenty of delicious leftovers, my niece and nephew camped out with me in the den and an I Love Lucy marathon on TV Land.
We still love Lucy and TV Land picked out some terrific episodes like the William Holden and John Wayne Hollywood ones.
The show lives on because it holds up – and it is so damned funny!
What other show that debuted more 60 years ago could get a brand-new prime-time special?
On Dec. 20, CBS will air a one-hour colorized special. One half is the long-lost Christmas episode that resurfaced in 1989 and has since been released on DVD.
And new will be a colorized version of the episode when Lucy was in Italy and went to work stomping grapes at a vineyard to “soak up local color.” The episode’s official title is Lucy’s Italian Movie.
It was be fascinating to see what Lucy looks like, in color, after that big battle scene with a fellow grape stomper!

James says:
I don’t think that is an accurate portrayal of Lucy’s hair color. If it is, I would have taken artistic license and made it a deeper red.
