Colin Powell favors marriage equality!
I just watched Colin Powell’s interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN and was thrilled to see the former chairman of the Joints Chief of Staff and Secretary of State speak out in favor of marriage equality.
‘I have no problem with it,’ Powell said. ‘In terms of the legal matter of creating a contract between two people that’s called marriage, and allowing them to live together with the protection of law, it seems to me is the way we should be moving in this country.’
Powell’s remarks come two weeks after President Barack Obama publicly endorsed marriage equality for the first time.
‘I support the president’s decision and I think most Americans increasingly understand that times have changed,’ said Powell.

As a life long Liberal Democrat that laughed at the idea for voting on the Republican line, I always made the exception for General Powell. He is a man of such high moral character that I can’t find a reason to dislike him. History will tell that he is not only a great American but also would have made an incredible President… Lets just forget the Bush years…
