CNN’s Anderson Cooper apologizes for describing Donald Trump as “an obese turtle flailing in the sun”

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper made some headlines on Friday when described Donald Trump’s behavior after being defeated by Joe Biden this way: “That is the president of the United States. That is the most powerful person in the world. We see him like an obese turtle on his back flailing in the hot sun, realizing his time is over.”

On Saturday, after Biden had been declared the winner of the presidential race, Cooper apologized for the remarks during an interview with Andrew Yang: “By the way I should say, I regret using those words because that’s not the person I really wanna be. It was in the moment, and I regret it.”
