Cindy McCain doesn’t agree with Kirk Cameron’s anti-gay views but does not think he’s a bigot
Cindy McCain appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight this week and was asked about Kirk Cameron’s anti-gay comments on the same program last week.
‘He has his views, I respect that,’ the wife of US Sen. John McCain said before adding, ‘I strongly disagree.’
But McCain does not believe the former Growing Pains star, who said homosexuality is ‘unnatural,’ ‘detrimental,’ and ‘ultimately destructive,’ is a bigot.
She and Morgan also discussed gay rights and religious rights and her own evolution of the marriage issue.
‘It’s … a lesson in tolerance,’ she said. ‘What you’re finding now is that people, like you just said, maybe not agree but are realizing that this is the right thing to do for people. I got into this issue because of adoption. It seemed ludicrous to me that a gay couple could adopt but couldn’t be married. It was time.’
Well, have a talk with your husband Cindy!
