Christmas Day Morning Man: Jake Gyllenhaal!

What better way to get us into the Christmas spirit than with a sexy and shirtless Jake Gyllenhaal wearing a Santa hat?

In case you don’t recognize them, these photos are stills from Jake’s terrific 2005 film Jarhead.

The movie, directed by Sam Mendes, was based on former Marine Anthony Swofford’s best-selling 2003 book about his pre-Desert Storm experiences in Saudi Arabia and about his experiences fighting in Kuwait.

Jarhead was released during a banner year for Gyllenhaal who also starred with Heath Ledger in the classic love story Brokeback Mountain earning his first Academy Award nomination. His other film that year was Proof opposite Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actor turned 36 this week and continues to choose his roles carefully starring in a string of quality films in recent years including this year’s Nocturnal Animals as well as Nightcrawler, Southpaw, Prisoners, End of the Watch, Zodiac, Rendition, Love and Other Drugs and Brothers.
