Chris Colfer’s message to late “Glee” co-star Cory Monteith: “Love and miss you, buddy”

The character of Kurt Hummel, like any gay high school kid probably would, had a big crush of Big Man on Campus Finn Hudson during the early days of Glee.

After a rocky beginning, the two characters became stepbrothers when Kurt’s mom married Finn’s dad and eventually they were firm friends.

Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt, made his first public statement today about the recent death of Cory Monteith who played Finn.

“I’ll never forget all the laughs we shared or the faces we made after awkward interview questions,” Colfer wrote on Instagram along with a screengrab taken from what must have been one of their Q&A moments.

He added simply: “Love and miss you, buddy.”

Fox, the network on which Glee airs, issued this statement today: “Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith. We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time.”
