Cheyenne Jackson’s next Broadway gig is set: He’ll play Woody in “Finian’s Rainbow”

Out Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson returns to Broadway in October in Finian’s Rainbow, reprising the role he played in a New York Center Encores! production.
It will be the first revival of the show in 50 years. It tells the story of the Irishman Finian McLonergan and his daughter Sharon who travel to a small Southern town in the mythical state of Misstucky with plans to bury a stolen pot of gold believing, mistakenly, that it will grow and multiply.
The musical’s score boasts such songs as Old Devil Moon, How Are Things in Glocca Morra?, When I’m Not Near the Girl I Love (I Love the Girl I’m Near), Look to the Rainbow, and If This Isn’t Love.
Cheyenne’s star has been shining quite brightly and this production in the latest in a growing Broadway resume that includes Xanadu and All Shook Up.
