Cher to receive the Billboard Icon Award

I think it is outrageous that Cher has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

She has such amazing longevity and just so many hits dating back to 1965’s I Got You Babe.

At least Billboard recognizes her achievements and will present the Oscar/Grammy/Emmy winner with the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards on May 21.

The award ‘recognizes lifetime achievement and an artist’s remarkable and enduring contribution to popular music.’

It has previously been presented to Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Diamond.

Cher will sing Believe, the biggest hit of her career, on the show.
