Chastity Bono becoming a man?

Yes, you read correctly. TMZ.com is reporting exclusively that the daughter of Sonny and Cher is in the early stages and changing genders. Chastity Bono is one of the most famous lesbians in the world since the 90s, coming out on the cover of The Advocate and writing a few books.

Chastity began the process earlier this year, shortly after turning 40, according to TMZ.

“Yes, it’s true — Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity,” confirmed Bono’s publicist, Howard Bragman. “He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones. It is Chaz’s hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his ‘coming out’ did nearly 20 years ago.”

I’m blown away. I just had absolutely no idea and I’ve read Chastity’s books! It’s one thing to go through this kind of transition as an anonymous person but to do so as a celebrity takes a lot of guts. I think Chastity will be an inspiration to all.
