Chandler Massey talks to Greg In Hollywood about Will Horton kissing a guy on “Days of Our Lives”
Okay Days of Our Lives fans, tomorrow is the day: Our Will Horton is going to kiss another guy!
We know that Will has been struggling for some time with his sexuality and has not admitted that he is gay to anyone – even himself.
But these things have a way of bubbling over – especially when there is alcohol involved.
Chandler Massey, the Emmy nominated actor who does a stellar job in the role of Will, gave the scoop to Greg In Hollywood about what to expect tomorrow.
after drinking some beers and spending the evening with a group of gay guys he meets through his gay friend Sonny (Freddie Smith), Will finds himself attracted to a guy who’s been flirting with him and decides to make a move after getting a little drunk on beer during several games of beer pong.
‘Will is definitely the aggressor,’ Chandler says. ‘I want to be clear: it’s not just Will getting drunk and making out with a guy. He’s been wanting to show that part of himself for a long time. Most of the time he is sober and is restraining himself. It’s like a perfect storm. Going out with Sonny and Sonny’s gay friends, Will feels comfortable. Then the beer pong and he lets go for a second.”
And it is not just an innocent little peck on the lips either.
‘It’s definitely passionate,’ Chandler adds. ‘It’s like a makeout session. It spans two scenes in [Thursday’s] episode and keeps going into Friday’s. I wanted to sell it 100 percent and make it convincing.’
So who is the recipient of Will’s affection?
His name is Neil and he’s played by actor Jesse Kristofferson who has a handful of prime-time guest spots to his credit and whose father is singer-actor Kris Kristofferson.
‘We are friends so it wasn’t awkward,’ Chandler says of the kiss. ‘We just said, ‘Let’s do this.”
But don’t expect Will to be marching in any gay pride parades anytime soon.
‘It’s one step forward and two steps back,’ says Chandler. ‘He retreats. But this does mark a turning point because the kiss is witnessed by Sonny. So this is the point of no return.’
While Chandler has had several kissing scenes with Gabi (Camila Banus) on the show, it’s his first same-sex liplock.
‘I’m excited for it and a little nervous about how people will react,’ the actor says. ‘It’s going to be probably more than what people expect. I think it’s overdue.’

So exciting! I saw the kiss on today’s day-ahead episode in Canada, and I have to say it’s everything Chandler promises and more!
Dean says:
I am so proud to see this shown as it could and actually does happen in real life.Chandler Massey is absolutely amazing and humbly beautiful
Joseph says:
Yes! So excited for this. What wonderful acting throughout this entire storyline.
Ross32 says:
AMAZING! So realistic. Entire storyline has been very easy to relate to
David says:
I saw it and was disappointed that it was such a “hard” seemingly-forced kiss, and not a little softer and more romantic!
Belinda Smith says:
that was hardcore hot. Sonny looks totally jealous. I want to see more.
Torrie says:
What a cutie pie! 🙂
Bob says:
Chan’s acting was amazing, formidable, and incredibly sensitive in the scenes with Deidre Hall. The writers portrayed their sensibilities with incredible nuance (not always seen on a daily soap). As a viewer of “DAYS” since the 1970’s, I can say that I’ve seen most of the relationships a soap could ever conjure up. And the writers in 2012 are now forming some of the most convincing characters I’ve ever witnessed in this genre.
Chandler Massey is a bright, and luminous jewel. He should/will have a career far beyond the TV limitations of the moment. I, as an avid viewer, cannot wait to see what he does next (both on “Days” and in his bright, blue-eyed future).
Can’t wait to see what happens next with that ‘boy’ from Norcross, GA He will go far.

KAREN says:
chandler deserves an emmy for his acting he is awesome
David G says:
The kiss was very forced and lewd. The actors and the directors failed in this scene. Hopefully things will get better in the future. Chandler is usually on point in his performances though. I think the directors didnt direct this scene well.
marie says:
It wasn’t forced or lewd! it wasn’t anything different than the hard attack likes kissing of say Sami and EJ. Was there some anger in there? Was it aggressive of Will to go at it so hard? YYEEESSS! it was probably one of the most real scenes I have seen on a soap. Things came to a head for Will. All things got to a point where he had to let loose.
A first kiss for Will would not be soft and passionate. That will come. when he has love. He isn’t in love with the person he flirted with and was drunk while kissing.
He isn’t ok with who he is yet. he will be, I really think they are going to be real on this story line. Its a good thing. Soaps have had to work hard to bring color to their shows, that still needs work.
what do I look forward to? when we can have the gay characters be as sleezy and bad or evil as the straight ones lol. Then we know that we have equality.
… signed a straight mom who takes the in-equality of ssm seriously.

This was by far the best kiss I’ve seen in a long time on Days and I’ve been watching for as long as I can remember. I’ve had the feeling that this story line was around the bend and I am the proudest I’ve ever been to a Days fan. Will being gay, has definatly made me a believer in what Days could be!!! 100% REAL.
LOVE IT!!!
Jennie E says:
As far as the kiss went I think it was fitting. I remember an episode where Marlena was talking about Sami and EJ’s…gag…sexing with him. She was saying that you gotta let things out in the open. Well, how long has our little hottie been holding the sexual confusion inside?Part of me kind of hopes that Sonny continues to date the other guy and then realizes “Whoa! I want Will!” That is my 2 cents!
PMR says:
I have recently started watching Days mainly because of the Will story. As a long time viewer of As The World Turns, I loved the Luke-Noah-Reid story. They broke ground with that making the first same-sex supercouple on daytime. Now Days is breaking new ground of their own an are doing it fantastic. The scenes with will an Marlena are especially touching. And Chandler brings humor to the role as well. Take the episode where Will, Marlena and Sami are arguing. Sami says “What did I do to deserve this?” and Will responds with a hysterical response, “I think I have a list somewhere.” Go Days!!!!! The kiss was fantastic. Keep up the great work.
