Chandler Massey returning to Days of Our Lives!
This is amazing news: Chandler Massey has returned to Days of Our Lives.
I may start watching again! The gifted actor had won three consecutive Daytime Emmys for his portrayal of Will Horton, a young man whose coming out as a gay man was a major storyline involving two of the show’s core families.
He resumed to the soap last month after more than three years away. Massey’s first episode will air sometime in September.
Massey had left the show to resume his studies at UCLA and was replaced by actor Guy Wilson.
While played by Wilson, the character of Will got married to Sonny Kiriakis (played by Freddie Smith) and had a dramatic personality change.
Will went from sweet and charming to lying and scheming and wildly insecure after his husband’s first love moved to their small town.
Most dramatically, Will was also murdered by his cousin’s fiancee.
But soap operas, of course, have long been known to find creative ways to bring characters back from the dead.
Maybe Will has a long-lost twin? Maybe the Will who cheated on his husband and became a liar wasn’t the real Will at all? Or maybe Massey would return via flashback or as a ghost?
‘I am so excited to be bringing Will back to Salem!’ he tells Entertainment Weekly.
‘I can’t wait for the fans to see what we have planned. You won’t want to miss it!’

The greatest news I’ve heard all day!!! I remember the day I heard Chandler was leaving Days I cried for weeks.
Kay says:
It’ll be interesting to see how they bring back Will from the dead. However, if that means that Will/Sonny will reunite at some point then great.
John Beene says:
I love Chandler to pieces but I confess to a wait-and-see attitude here. I wouldn’t be surprised if these writers find a way to de-gay Will. If they do, I won’t watch.
Dan says:
Great news!…Cannot wait to see Chandler back in Salem & Alison as his mom too!
