Celebrating the late, great Judy Garland who was born 93 years ago today
If she were still alive, Judy Garland would have been 93 today.
We mourn her early passing in 1969 at the age of 47 but we celebrate all she left behind.
She left us The Wizard of Oz and her signature song Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
She left all those terrific movies she did with Mickey Rooney plus Meet Me in St. Louis, Easter Parade, The Harvey Girls and her Oscar-nominated performances in A Star is Born and Judgment at Nuremberg.
Then there was her Grammy winning album Judy at Carnegie Hall and the wonderful TV series, the Emmy nominated The Judy Garland Show on CBS.
Best of all, she left three children: Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft and Joey Luft who appeared (too briefly) at last year’s Academy Awards in a tribute to their mother’s most famous film The Wizard of Oz.
She truly lives on.
