Carson Daly apologizes for making fun of gay people on his radio show; hear his original comments here
You have to wonder what possessed Carson Daly to say the things he did on his radio show this morning.
He has now apologized via Twitter but you have to figure that will not be the end of it.
Carson writes: “This morning on my radio show I attempted to make fun of myself & offended others by mistake. I sincerely apologize.”
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has emailed me and said they are in dialogue with Daly’s representatives and have asked him to speak out against stereotypes of the LGBT community.
I’d say it’s the least he could do.

i wonder if he has ever heard of mark bingham. he has also insulted every gay service member of every country in the world, not to mention every glbt law enforcement officer. and i hope they all pay him a visit.

I don’t want to listen to his comments. Just reading about it is bad enough. It’s these off-the-cuff “jokes” and comments that are just as responsible for gay youths thinking less of themselves as outright bullying. I have a friend who posted a pic of Oscar De Le Hoya in fishnets on her FaceBook and one of her friends commented that the he was a “fag” and my friend repeated it. And she is someone who works with many gay men in her line of work. It’s so ingrained in society that people don’t even realize the damage they are doing and hurt they are causing to others. Someone in the public eye like Carson Daly should know better.

just plain sad and it goes also to the others with him that laughed along with him…just can’t understand these people in entertainment world that work along side all different kinds of people including gays and lesbians who think they can still get a laugh from being insensitive and cruel when so many kids are killing themselves from bullies…
