Carrie Prejean emerges to talk about solo sex tape: “I’m taking total responsibility for it … I’m still standing.”
Disgraced former Miss California Carrie Prejean emerged publicly last night for the first time since the existence of a solo sex tape she made for a former boyfriend was made public last week.
In an interview on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Prejean took responsibility for what she repeatedly called “the biggest mistake of my life” but continued to paint herself as a victim of the “liberal media” and someone who has been targeted for speaking her mind against gay marriage.
Carrie, who took great pains to remind everyone that she is just 22, says that as a teenager (she does not say how old exactly) she made the tape for her then-boyfriend: “I was all by myself. I was sending my boyfriend at the time, who I loved and cared about, you know, video of me. I was a teenager at the time and never did I ever think it would come out.”
She said the boyfriend has denied selling her out.
“I’ve learned a lot about people and what they’ll do to make money,” she said.
Her advice to young women out there: “Be careful, nothing is private anymore.”
So why are people out to get her?
“I guess what they are trying to say are Christian aren’t perfect and I never said I was perfect. … It took seven months to just dig through my past, beat my parents up. All these attacks need to stop.”
Hannity suggests to Prejean that “maybe the worst is yet to come” because the tape will likely be made public.
“I think anyone would be concerned that the biggest mistake of their life aired,” said Carrie.
So how is Carrie getting through all of her trials and tribulations?
“I just have to rely ion my faith, rely on my family and millions of supporters out there who still support me. … My attackers would love nothing more than for me to be hiding in a corner right now but I’m still standing.”
There was no mention in the interview of the tape reportedly being the reason why Prejean quickly agreed to settle a lawsuit against the Miss California pageant. She had been seeking damages of $1 million claiming religious discrimination she’s been subject to public ridicule and humiliation and lost out on modeling work because she lost her crown.
