Busy Neil Patrick Harris squeezes in stint as a guest judge on “American Idol”

It’s got to be so much fun to be Neil Patrick Harris these days.

Hollywood now realizes the full extent of his talent and the Emmy-nominated star of How I Met Your Mother is in heavy demand with award show hosting duties (Tonys last June, Emmys next month), movie roles, and now this: a guest judge stint on FOX’s American Idol.

Neil is part of the judging panel during the Dallas auditions, a vacancy created by the departure of Paula Abdul. Even though it’s just a one-shot deal, think about what someone like NPH could bring to the mix. His wit and charm would keep Simon Cowell on his toes that is for sure!

As for Abdul, she is going to host VHI’s Divas concert.
