Broadway legend Chita Rivera sustains pelvic stress fracture in a fall – postpones concerts
Sending out good wishes to the great Chita Rivera today.
The beloved Broadway legend had a fall over Christmas and sustained a pelvic stress fracture.
She was scheduled to perform at the Café Carlyle January 12-23. That engagement has been rescheduled for April 19-30.
Chita said in a statement today: “I’m so sorry that I must postpone these dates at the Café Carlyle and disappoint my fans, but we will reschedule and I’ll be back!”
Chita’s career is highlighted by starring roles in Bye Bye Birdie, The Rink (Tony Award), Chicago, Jerry’s Girls, Kiss of the Spider Woman (Tony Award), The Visit and the original Broadway casts of Guys and Dolls, Can-Can, Seventh Heaven and Mr. Wonderful.
Additionally, she has toured in Born Yesterday, The Rose Tattoo, Call Me Madam, Threepenny Opera, Sweet Charity, Kiss Me Kate, Zorba and Can-Can with The Rockettes.
