British wheelchair tennis star Greg Slade on coming out publicly: “i’m proud of who I am today”

I’ve been so obsessed with Carlos Alcaraz journey to winning his first Australian Open that I overlooked a very important pro tennis story: British wheelchair tennis star Greg Slade took to Instagram before the start of the tournament to share with the public that he is gay.

I think it is wonderful and hooray for Greg, the 2024 Summer Paralympics silver medalist.

I’ve started following him on Instagram and plan to start following his career. He made it to the semifinals at Wimbledon last year in singles and made it to the final of the doubles competition.

Greg, who is 23, is currently ranked 18th in the world in singles and has won five singles titles. He has 14 career titles in doubles and is currently ranked 14th as a doubles player.
