Brent Antonello on his gay romance on VH1’s Hit the Floor: ‘Jude’s falling for Zero without a doubt’
The VH1 pro basketball drama Hit the Floor has quickly flown onto the radar of gay viewers with the surprise affair between a star player is named Zero (Adam Senn) and his agent.
Brent Antonello, who plays Jude, says that despite Zero’s insistence that ‘I don’t do relationships,’ the agent (who happens to be the son of the team’s owner) and the player may be falling in love.
‘Jude’s falling for Zero without a doubt. Without a doubt,’ he tells The Backlot. ‘I think you can see that without any dialogue. Just the way that he looks at him. And I feel like Zero could possibly be heading that direction.’
Antonello was amazed at how the storyline has erupted on social media.
‘A lot of people, with the gay characters, they’re pleased because where the show takes place is such a testosterone-driven setting, with beautiful women – and then to bring these two characters in shocked everyone in a great way. We got great feedback.
‘I actually was texting with Adam last week, and we were just like, “Dude, I can’t believe we’re getting this much positive response. This is great. I can’t wait to see where this will lead up to in season three or wherever it goes.” So, we’re very pleased, and we’re just real excited where the show’s headed.’
The actors wanted their intimate scenes to feel authentic so they fully committed to them.
‘ … We didn’t want to disappoint anyone including the cast because we’re new members of the show and we didn’t want to screw up those scenes. So it was all about commitment and leaving everything outside and just being those two characters in that moment, and letting things happen and react to each other’s words and just let it happen.’
The show’s second season finale airs on VH1 on Monday (11 August).

I am loving the two characters Jude and Zero(Giddeon). The actors portrayed the make-believe people with passion. I would love to see more from them in season 3. I’m from Plilippines. This kind of story is not really common here where cool guys come out from their shells. So, here I am browsing the net with my friendsss andbwe were like aaahhhh OMG!(shouting). And we want more..God bless and more power to the show and good health to the characters so they could shoot

I like watching the storyline jude is so in love with zero and no matter what zero can’t deny it he totally in love with jude the actors are so believable I love the make out scene I hope they have more air time they are why I watch it too hotties what more can a straight girl ask for

I mentioned my reaction to their love making on other blogs, and that is, the two of them are awesome! It’s amazing that when they are in a scene together, you can see how genuine their feelings are for each other. I hope the writers don’t screw up this romance– like having second thoughts as to who they are or have some feme fatale (although Zero is portrayed as being bi) come between him and Jude! In any event he and Brent should appear in another series or film dealing with the same relationship–even the ladies would cheer it on!
