Breakfast w/Greg: The trailer for soap spoof “WeHo” and Reba McEntire on gays: “I like ’em”

Good morning!

Since I was out and about quite a bit over the weekend, I had the chance to meet several Greg In Hoilywood readers at various events and just want to say thank you to everyone who approached me and had kind words about the blog.

It means the world to me.

WAITING FOR WEHO: This looks like a hoot! It’s a preview of the upcoming online series WeHo. With its over-the-top writing and acting, it looks like a really fun spoof. I’ll be writing more about it soon but recognize two of the actors in it: Steve Callahan and Matthew Montgomery.

Also in the cast: James Brandon, Elizabeth Cava, Mark Colbert, Joshua Wolf Coleman, Paul Denniston, Steve Hasley, Molly O’Leary, Scott Presley, Adrian Quinonez, Devin Sidell, and Selina Smith.

Here’s the plot: From the viewers of Dynasty, 90210, Melrose Place and Gossip Girl comes a REAL drama. WeHo is filled with shirtless gym trainers, same-s*x power couples, battling twins, murder and, of course, a bitch diva to end all bitch divas! All of the action is set against the backdrop of the most dramatic city never to hit prime time: West Hollywood.

The series is written and directed by Nick Arnzen and here is a LINK to the show’s Facebook page.

I know that WeHo co-star Steve Callahan has been in the cast of stage versions of WeHo. He’s also one of the stars of tonight’s benefit performance of Corpus Christi. Click HERE for tickets and more information.

REBA LOVE: There’s a reason why Reba McEntire has remained a believed star for so long now besides her immense talent: she has a big heart.

The country music and sitcom star told Out.com that her new album Keep On Loving You is for all her fans -gay or straight.

“I just try not to judge,” Reba said. “Don’t judge me, and I won’t judge you. And that’s what it says in the Bible — ‘Don’t judge.'”

For those who might find her consenting to do an interview with a gay publication, Reba said: “Keep an open mind. That would be my voice. I have gay friends. I have a lot of straight friends. I don’t judge them. I take them for what they are. They’re my friends, and I can’t defend my feelings for them, other than I like ’em.”

That would be a terrific slogan for a T-shirt for straight allies to wear” “I like ’em!”

Reba, we like you too.

One Remark

  1. WeHo looks like so much fun. I saw Matthew Montgomery in Redwoods at the Frameline Film Festival and was impressed. Glad he’s part of the show.
