Breakfast w/Greg: Scotty & Kevin; Lady Gaga’s words for Obama and Barney Frank; R.I.P. Stephen Gately; Happy B-day Hugh Jackman

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3_61vM_7jF4/Sg7zurVEbcI/AAAAAAAAFAc/gaVEsGXoxdM/s400/Scotty+&+Kevin+04.jpgGood Morning everyone.

I watched ABC’s Brothers & Sisters last night and while the big storyline is Kitty’s cancer, it was a scene between Scotty (Luke Macfarlane) and Kevin (Matthew Rhys) that really caught my attention: The married pair were in bed, both shirtless, and Scott said to Kevin: “Let’s have a baby.”

It will not cause a blip, I’m sure, since the two didn’t kiss but it was very intimate. It made me think back to 20 years ago when there was such brouhaha and advertiser pushback over a scene on Thirtysomething. The episode was titled Strangers and it depicted series regular Melissa’s friends Russell (David Marshall Grant) and Peter (Peter Frechette) in bed together.

Scotty and Kevin are a solid couple and series regulars so there’s that progress and also, Luke Macfarlane is an openly gay man portraying a gay man on television.

Hooray!

NATIONAL EQUALITY MARCH: Wanted to share a couple of speeches from Sunday’s big event. Above is a spirited Lady Gaga who screamed comment directed at President Barack Obama: “Are you listening?” … “We will continue to push you and your administration to brimg your words of promise to reality. We need change now … and to Barney Frank,. we are putting more than pressure on this grass and today this grass is ours.”

The video bekow is March co-Chairman: Cleve Jones who said: “You heard our presdient give a beautiful speech and he delivered it well. But he did not say when.”  He told attendees that the march is just a launching pad: “When you go home you must promise us that you will go home and do the work that is necessary.”

TRAGIC LOSS: This is just terribly sad and completely shocking. Boyzone singer Stephen Gately, just 33 years old, was been found dead over the weekend while on holiday with his partner in Majorca, Spain.

The Irish band, which had six UK number one hits from 1994 to 2000, had announced their comeback tour last November. The group’s website states that “We are truly sorry to confirm that Stephen tragically died yesterday whilst on holiday, with his partner Andrew, in Majorca.”

“We are unable to give any other details at this time. We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen. We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more. Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives and those of the many friends he had all over the world. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen’s family. We love you and will miss you forever, ‘Steo'”.

BIRTHDAY MAN: My dream man, Hugh Jackman, turns 41 years old today.

The reigning sexiest man alive is currently starring with fellow-heartthrob Daniel Craig on Broadway in A Steady Rain.

He is truly the most talented man in showbiz when you comsider his astonishing range of talen. He can play action-hero Wolverine and be the romantic leading man opposite Nicole Kidman in the sweeping epic Australia then turn around and be the charming host of the Academy Awards. He’s also a Tony winner for best actor in a musical, an award he won for playing gay singer Peter Allen.

Happy Birthday Hugh!!!
