Breakfast w/Greg: Rosie and Kelli update; Zac Efron shirtless on the set; Happy B-day Jensen Atwood; Simply DiVine tally

Good Morning everyone!

I have periods when I post a lot about Rosie O’Donnell but I just realized I had not checked her blog in several weeks. I had seen reports that there was trouble in paradise between Rosie and wife Kelli Carpenter but dismissed it as tabloid fodder.

But in a blog entry a few days ago, Rosie admits at least to some turbulence as she describes an encounter she had with a young cameraman for TMZ who, camera rolling, asks her “and u and ur wife… he said …whats up with that.”

Rosie’s reply in her poetry-style prose:

marriage is hard i told him
when u r married 12 years
lemme know how it goes
it aint easy

and thats my comment
thats all i got for u
its not a movie
or a sound bite for tv

its real life
just like urs
a family figuring it out
and on we go

ZAC ON THE SET: I’m getting a little long in the tooth to be drooling over someone as young as Zac Efron.

But I know that you all would want to see these new photos of shirtless Zac on the set of The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.

In the movie, due out next year, Zac plays a guy haracter who mourns the death of his brother by working at the cemetery where his body is buried.

Sounds like a real change of pace from 17 Again, Hairspray and the High School Musical flicks!

BIRTHDAY BOY: There are few actors around who are as gracious – and gorgeous – as Jensen Atwood, the hunky star of the Noah’s Arc TV series and feature film as well as the here!TV gothic series Dante’s Cove.

Jensen turns 33 years old today.

I’ll never forget our first meeting about 5-6 years ago. I was at an after-party during Outfest and a handsome guy working the valet approached me to take my ticket. I said: “You look just like that guy from ‘Noah’s Arc.” He laughed and said, “That IS me!”

He is a straight actor who has embraced gay roles and has spoken out against homophobia within the African-American community.

“It’s definitely jump-started my career,” he said of Noah’s Arc when we spoke last fall. “These are unexpected choices that have fallen into my lap but I take them wholeheartedly and I’m thankful to have the fanbase that I have from Noah’s Arc, and from Dante’s Cove.”

Happy birthday Jensen!!!

GOOD CAUSE: This photo is from Saturday night’s Simply DiVine event in Beverly Hills benefitting the LA Gay & Lesbian Center. I chatted some wth Stevie St. John and Thomas Soule, two members of the center’s communcations staff.

Stevie has informed me that, in all, the event drew about 500 people and raised $160,000 for the center.

One Remark

  1. Love that Zac will toss the shirt aside at the drop of hat. Doesn’t take much to convince the boy to flash the abs.
