Breakfast w/Greg: Ricky Martin and the twins; Marc Cherry says Andrew lives; Rush Limbaugh is an infant
Good morning all!
Let’s kick things off by talking about Ricky Martin. Remember when he was the biggest star around and everyone – including Barbara Walters – was just dying to know whether or not he was gay?
Well Ricky, in a far less bitchy fashion, decided to go the Clay Aiken route by not confirming or denying anything.
Now, no one really cares and the heat is certainly off of Ricky’s career. But I sense that the spotlight was too bright for him anyway and he retreated a bit. But he’s resurfaced this week in a series of photos with his adorable twins boys Matteo and Valentino born a year ago via gestational surrogate.
I know he has proven to be very private, but if Ricky were to want to take the music world by storm again, a few candid interviews about his life would do wonders.
ANDREW STILL IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: With actor Shawn Pyfrom’s desire to pursue other projects outside of Desperate Housewives – where his once-juicy role as Andrew Van de Kamp had been less-than-juicy in recent seasons – it looked like one of prime-time network’s most high-profile gay characters was going to fade away.
Not so, show creator
Marc Cherry tells
Entertainment Weekly he’s worked out a “cool situation” with the actor that makes him a recurring character rather than sbow regular: “He wanted more freedom [so] we [hammered out] a smaller episode order with him,” Cherry says. “I don’t ever want to say goodbye to him completely. He’s a beloved figure around here.”
NO RUSH TO GROW UP: Rush Limbaugh is already as low as they go in my book but his latest remark about openly gay congressman Barney Frank is pretty much beyond the pale.
As featured in yesterday’s Breakfast, Frank asked a town hall protester who had compared President Obama to Hitler, “On what planet do you spend most of your time?”
Since Limbaugh must feel compelled to defend his fellow wackos, on his show Wednesday (via Mediaite), he responded by mocking Frank and asking, “Isn’t it an established fact that Barney Frank himself spends most of his time living around Uranus?”
What. A. Child.

I’d lost interest in Ricky Martin the past few years, but he’s looking great. Must his happiness with fatherhood showing through.
Rush is so pathetic. What’s really obscene is he’s paid millions for being on the radio and spewing hate every day. He contributes nothing worthwhile to better our society and the lives of our citizens.
Daniel Lewis Frommherz says:
How low is low anyway Rush? I have a feeling that it is like needing a step-ladder and extension to reach the belly of his pet cock roach. When oh when are these get up in the morning and slam directly into the wall fixated on hate spewing Religious Right (or left meaning the hand they use to get off) Wingnuts going to grow up and realize that being LGBT is not all about sex. Even if having all that sex they think we have…it is to put it simply (in their simple minds so they can somehow understand) a figment of the so called straight community in their oh so limited world view. Let it be known too Rush Charlie Chaplin was right on his view of children, “Never touch them unless properly cooked”.
