Breakfast w/Greg: Peter Facinelli’s gay kiss; Adam Lambert’s album gets release date; Heigl’s TV break
Good morning all!
I’m heading to The OC for the Labor Day weekend for five days of hanging out with friends and family. But the blog will live on through timed entries and my obsessive need to update at least a few times a day!
KISSING PETER: So who is the lucky guy who gets to kiss yummy Peter Facinelli?
It’s Peter’s Nurse Jackie co-star Haaz Sleiman. The photo surfaced yesterday and I have no idea what the context is except that it’s for an upcoming episode o the new Showtime series that stars Edie Falco as a nurse and foxy Facinelli as a doctor. I have not seen a single episode but you can be sure I will be seeing this one!
Peter, of course, also has a role in the Twilight movies as Robert Pattinson’s “father.”
HEIGL’S HIATUS: T.R. Knight’s Grey’s Anatomy BFF Katherine Heigl will be missing from a handful of episodes of the series this fall. But unlike T.R., she has not left the show – at least not yet.
Miss Heigl continues to enjoy both worlds of television and movie stardom. She is taking time off from Grey’s to0 film the romantic comedy Life As We Know It. She is riding a wave of three consecutive hit comedies which began with Knocked Up followed by 27 Dresses and continued with this summer’s The Ugly Truth which has grossed $86 million domestically so far..
An ABC rep tells Entertainment Weekly: “Katherine is taking time off to film a movie. The producers at Grey’s have accommodated past things like that before. It’s a cast of 13 and it is a true ensemble so the show is mindful [of other commitments].”

Dennis says:
Greg, you MUST see all of Season 1 of NURSE JACKIE — it is a terrifically written, oustandingly funny, and superbly acted series. And it features gay characters/situations realistically and with candor. A DVD of the first season will be released eventually, but there may be a rerun of these 12 episodes before Season 2 begins on Showtime next year. Beg, borrow, or steal to see these episodes. And it goes without saying, Falco outdoes herself in this portrayal and makes you forget all about Carmela Soprano.

I echo what Dennis says. Nurse Jackie is a lot of fun. The series is still finding its feet, but it’s pretty great so far. The show features two gay characters, Mo-mo and Thor, both of whom work with Falco’s character at the hospital. Mo-mo is the one being kissed by Peter Facinelli in that photo. Peter Facinelli’s character, a straight doctor, has two moms – played by Blythe Danner and Swoosie Kurtz.
In the photo you posted, Fascinelli’s character was taking a photo of him kissing Mo-mo on Mo-mo’s cell phone, so that Mo-mo could make his boyfriend jealous.
