Breakfast w/Greg: Keanu’s Tribute to Patrick Swayze; Alana’s thoughts on Farrah; Mario Lopez in lingerie!

It’s the afternoon and I apologize for the lateness of this column and lack of posts today. My best friend is visiting from Ohio so instead of writing Breakfast w/Greg, I was having Breakfast w/James at Dupar’s at the Farmers Market. Best pancakes ever, anywhere.
So many people are morning the loss of Patrick Swayze including several of his co-starts from his nearly 30 years in movies. Among them is Keanu Reeves, who co-starred with Patrick in the 1991 cult fave Point Break. Reeves played an FBI agent opposite Swayze’s bank-robbing surfer.
While shooting Point Break, Reeves tells E! Online that Swayze not only jumped out of planes, but “he did the flips and falling to the ground and he did it with an open heart.
“He was a beautiful person, an artist. Patrick, he just wanted to experience life and for his work he wanted to take the opportunity of the film and it gave him that sense. I can say what I know, that he lived life to the fullest. My sympathies and condolences go out to his friends and family.”
FRIEND UNTIL THE END: Like Swayze, Farrah Fawcett also died too soon and had courageously battled her cancer.
Alana Stewart filmed and produced the documentary Farrah’s Story which was nominated for an Emmy. It was on the red carpet of the Creative Arts Emmys that I spoke with Alana about Farrah and she got choked up .
“It really, really kind of blew me away what an impact it had on people. I believe this will be Farrah legacy and her courage and her spirit will never be forgotten. She’s the most fearless, courageous , great person I’ve ever known and it’s an honor to be nominated. She’d been nominated for three Emmys in the past and never won. Tonight, of this should win, I’d say she deserves it. I only wish she was here with us.”
Alana was very composed but then got choked up when I said, “She should have won for Burning Bed and Small Sacrifices and even for that part on The Guaradian.” (Those were Fawcett’s Emmy nominated roles).
“Yes, yes, she is so talented and so wonderful,” she said, her voice cracking. “I was lucky to have a friend like her.”
MARIO’S NEW OUTFIT: On a far lighter note, producers of Nip/Tuck have found something even more proocative than when they showed Mario Lopez naked in the shower revealing his hall of fame buns.
The former AC Slater of Saved By the Bell and current host of Extra! will reprise his role as plastic surgeon Dr, Mike Hamoui when the series premieres its sixth and final series on FX on Oct. 14. In photos published on PopBytes, Mario is in a sexy lingerie outfit.
I’m not sure that the storyline is but I do know this: I like it!
