Breakfast w/Greg: Eating Out 3 premiere party; A busy weekend of events for good causes ahead

I know what you’re thinking: What the heck is Greg doing working on a Saturday? Well, there are cool events all weekend so I’ll be bopping around town covering them.

Eating Out 3 Party by you.

The busy weekend started last night with the party for Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat which had its premiere at Sunset 5 and is now showing there. The after-party was upstairs at Eleven in West Hollywood and was packed. I didn’t stay long because I had other things going on but walked into the party with producer Michael Shoal who I’ve known for several years now and he seemed very excited about the reception for the movie.

Chatted up leading men Chris Salvatore and Daniel Skelton (Daniel is pictured above). I took a wonderful picture of Chris which somehow I manage to delete. arrrg! Well, he’s the other guy in the poster. Chris, who made his movie debut in this third Eating Out film, told me he has moved to LA and looking for work as an actor.

Eating Out 3 Party Was also so happy to be able to finally meet the film’s gifted leading lady Rebekahn Kochan and director Glenn Gaylord (pictured left).

I’ve read some good reviews and some bad ones (the NY Times piece was especially scathing). All I know was that I had a wonderful time watching the movie and laughed a lot. I especially loved Miss Kochan who had been in the first two movies and really comes into her own here.

I know the movie was made on a shoestring budget so I hope it makes gobs of money for all involved.

SUNDAY AIDS  WALK: I’ve covered the AIDS Walk for the past few years and there is always a pretty good celebrity turnout. But Sunday’s event looks to be the most star-studded ever. That has to be because the walk is marking its 25th anniversary.

Among those scheduled to appear at a morning rally before the walkers begin their journey are Emmy winners Felicity Huffman and Kathryn Joosten of Desperate Housewives, Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker (pictured), Ricki Lake, out actors Wilson Cruz, George Takei and Darryl Stephens, transgender actress Candis Cayne, singer Aaron Carter, NCIS star Pauley Perrette, Katee Sacknoff of Battlestar Galactica, a large group of General Hospital stars including Kimberly McCullough, Finola Hughes, Kent King, Sonya Eddy, Jason Thompson, and Minae Noji.

And I ask you, would any event be complete these days without the presence of Latoya Jackson? Yup, she’ll be there too.

After the walk, there will be an invitation-only reception at Pacific Design Center celebrating the 25th anniversary. It’s hosted by Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher with one of the special guests being San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom!

Then on Sunday night, I’ll be at the Orpheum Theatre downtown for the Best in Drag Show presented by AID for AIDS.

I’ll at least be on the red carpet for that one, not sure if I’ll be allowed to see the show which is an outrageous beauty contest and the celebrity judges include these fabulous ladies: Jennifer Coolidge, JoAnne Worley, Olivia Wilde, Holland Taylor and Molly Shannon.

Then I’ll be off to Palm Springs for several days of relaxation but the blog will still be updated regularly. Have laptop will travel!
