Boy George comes clean about Prince

Boy George was asked point-blank by talk show host Wendy Williams yesterday if he had ever been involved with Prince.

Williams said she had ‘heard something: you said you slept with him.’

George quickly cleared the air about his fellow pop star with whom he rose to gender-bending fame at around the same time in the 1980s.

‘I was doing The Voice last year and we were competing to get these kids on our team and one of the other judges said, “Oh, I’ve sung with Prince.” I said, as a joke, “Oh, I’ve slept with him.”

‘Of course that’s not true at all. And then I changed it and said, “I slept with a poster of him under me.”‘

George said he had been told by Prince’s Purple Rain leading lady Apollonia Kotero that the late singer, who died unexpectedly last month, was a fan of the Culture Club hit Karma Chameleon.

‘I did meet Prince once I’m a massive Prince fan – I was very, very, very heartbroken,’ George said.

‘I met him once in Italy and he was suitably eccentric that’s all I can say. He was exactly what you’d expect him to be – he was Prince!’
