Bowen Yang’s final sketch at SNL regular is just perfect – and includes Arianna Grande and Cher!

Love, love, love this! What a perfect send-off for Bowen Yang who last left SNL as a regular cast member. He no doubt will return in sensational fashion as a guest host and maybe with a cameo here and there but is now free to focus on his ever-growing plethora of other projects.
Bowen first Chinese American repertory player in SNL history and only the third openly gay man. He also made history as the show’s first featured — i.e., less senior — player to earn an Emmy nomination for supporting actor in a comedy series in 2021, going on to earn three more nods and become the most nominated Asian male performer in the Emmys’ 77-year record.
It was pretty obvious what Yang was really talking about in the sketch when he said he would “miss everything about this place — the way it smells, the celebrities who would come through.”
A character played by this week’s host, Arianna Grande, congratulated Yang on “all the eggnog you’ve made over the years — some of it was great, some of it was rotten.”
“And a lot of it got cut,” Yang replied. Still, as he said about eggnog: “It’s not for everyone, but the people who like it are my kind of people.”
SNL musical guest Cher joined in the sketch at its conclusion to tell Yang: “Well, everyone thought you were a little bit too gay. But you know what? You’re perfect for me.”
