View this post on Instagram A Young American It took me 30 years to get to where I am now in my career. I went through a time where I didn't work. I didn't work on Broadway for 13 years, I had a hard time working, and it was always difficult for me to work in film and television. My masculinity was always in question and I found myself only trying to figure out how to be masculine enough by society’s standards so I could get a job. There were many times where I felt like giving up. Many times where I wasn’t sure where I fit in and no one would see me as I am. But I picked myself up, and kept going. Your gift will make room for you and you must be patient. I know a sometimes the road isn’t easy. But you keep going. And the constant reminder that the sun shows up and shines on you every day is enough to wake up and keep going everyday. That’s the beauty of a show like ours – @poseonfx. Is that it teaches us to choose life anyways. One must continue to put one foot in front of the other, no matter what they say, no matter how many 'no's you get. I am living proof.
