Bill Maher talks with Leno about gay marriage

Bill Maher paid a visit to The Tonight Show last night and had a few zingers aimed right at Rick Santorum who currently has the momentum in the see-saw race for the Republican party nomination for president.

‘He’s a little conservative for me,’ Maher told Jay Leno. ‘Thinks life begins at erection.’

Maher also pointed out that Republicans seem to be making their race more about social issues like gay marriage than about the economy.

‘This election, up until recently, was going to be all about money – deficits, jobs and spending too much – this is what the Tea Party was so upset about,’ Maher said. ‘Then somebody shoves a big, gay penis in their face and they jump at it.’

He added: ‘Rick Santorum is certainly perceived as anti-gay and I guess the Republicans haven’t gotten the memo that this country has changed since 2004.’
