Betty White wins Emmy for “SNL” performance! Relive some of her funniest moments from the show

Hollywood “it girl” Betty White continued her roll on Saturday night when she won an Emmy Award for her performance as host of Saturday Night Live in May.

The 88-year-old television legend bested a field that also included Tina Fey for Saturday Night Live, Jane Lynch for Two-and-a-Half Men and two-time Emmy winner Kathryn Joosten for Desperate Housewives.

The hosting gig was the result of a Facebook movement which came after White dazzled viewers in a hilarious Snickers commercial that aired during the Super Bowl.

Her popularity seemed to already be growing among younger fans thanks to her role in the Sandra Bullock comedy The Proposal last year and she now c0-stars in the hit TV Land sitcom Hot in Cleveland which was recently renewed for a second season.

The actress did not attend the Emmy ceremony but has delivered plenty of speeches in the past. In fact, it was the seventh Emmy win overall for Betty, two fewer than her fellow Mary Tyler Moore Show alum Cloris Leachman who last month at the TV Critics Association Summer Press Tour joked that she was “so sick of Betty White!

Miss White won her first Emmy back in the 1950s for her sitcom Life With Elizabeth then 20 years later, won two statuettes during her three seasons as happy homemaker Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Her next Emmy came in 1986 for the first season of The Golden Girls for her portrayal of naive Rose Nyland.

She also won a Daytime Emmy for outstanding game show host (Just Men!) and previously won in the guest actress category in 1996 for The John Larroquette Show. She has been nominated an additional 13 times in various categories.

Here are some highlights from her classic SNL episode:
