Betty White to receive Lifetime Achievement award at next month’s Daytime Emmys

http://images.buddytv.com/articles/gossip-girl-betty-white.jpgIf you thought there were no more awards to give Betty White, you are wrong.

It’s just been announced that the television legend will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at next month’s Daytime Emmys.

I love this because it makes so much sense. Betty was a game show regular for decades – especially on Password which was hosted by her late husband, Allen Ludden. She was also on Match Game countless times and won an Emmy for hosting the game show Just Men. She was also nominated for an Emmy for her performance in the daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful.

“Betty is a woman who has excelled in everything she has ever done,” says the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Senior Vice President of Daytime David Michaels.  “She is also one of the nicest women in show business and we are proud to be bestowing this honor on such an exemplary role model for our entire industry.”

Ms. White will be joining an illustrious group of previous Lifetime Achievement Honorees including, Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, Merv Griffin, Dick Clark, Bob Barker, Phil Donahue, Regis Philbin, Alex Trebek and many others.
